GIEMME, a company founded in 1982<\/a> by Mauro Zanetti and now run together with his son Manuel, has recently invested in a new production line for wooden windows and doors, purchasing Saomad’s Woodpecker Performance<\/a><\/strong> machining centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We interviewed Manuel Zanetti<\/strong>, GIEMME’s marketing and sales manager, to understand the reasons behind this decision and the company’s future prospects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A brief presentation of the company<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My father founded GIEMME in 1982 in Forl\u00ec, Romagna. We are a company that has always stood out for the attention we pay to our customers and the professionalism of the services we offer. Currently, my father mainly takes care of the financial and production side, while I take care of the marketing and sales area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2005 we acquired a factory in Slovenia, which we have developed and modernised. Today we have around 50 employees in production and last year we built a new 2,500 square metre hall where we installed, among other things, the new Woodpecker Performance machine from Saomad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your sales channels and customers?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Since 2012, we have been opening direct showrooms, with our own employees or single-handed agencies. We sell our production fixtures and fittings directly to the end customer, without resellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

50% of our customers are private individuals and 50% construction companies. Of course we also target professionals such as surveyors, architects and engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you get to know Saomad and why did you choose Woodpecker Performance?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We got to know Saomad in the early 2000s when we bought the factory in Slovenia. After about 20 years, needing both to evolve technologically and to develop the technical language of window frames, we contacted the company again, appreciating both the quality of the product and the intelligence with which it works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We chose the top-of-the-range Woodpecker Performance model with 5 motors and tool cleaning tank<\/strong>. As we have large construction sites, we needed fast machining for large quantities. The machine is equipped with the Everest vertical pre-machining magazine and a post-machining magazine Picking, so it can operate autonomously for a very long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advantages do you expect from the new machine?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We have taken the Woodpecker Performance both to increase productivity and to improve our technical language and make special profiles in high demand such as minimal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have already developed two new profiles in production on the machine<\/strong>. In October, we will come out with new window frames with a current design, similar to the previous ones but with technical touches that the market will surely appreciate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How far have you got with the implementation of the new line?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The machine was tested towards the beginning of 2024, then like every machine it needed a break-in period. Of course Performance is only one part of the production line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upstream machines, which were recommended but not produced by Saomad, also had to be run in. However, I would say that the machine is fulfilling all its promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you find working with Saomad?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We really appreciated their availability<\/strong>. They kept the machine with them until we completed the new shed. I did not follow the project myself, but I know that our production manager, who followed everything up directly with the Saomad technicians, had no complaints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
